Welcome to my online portfolio, GirlsGetPolitical!

My name is Jess, and I created this space to develop my journalistic writing and explore the issues shaping our world. My page consists of news reports, political analysis on UK and US politics, global affairs and feminist focused opinion pieces. Through both factual reporting and personal commentary, I aim for my journalism portfolio to create a space for sparking conversation and to encourage discussion amongst my readers!

The reason behind the name? Well, GirlsGetPolitical is a statement, disturbing a conventional narrative and driving my beliefs that women have the ability to be politically outspoken. I created this website to have a space in which political issues and current affairs can be easily accessible.

My stylistic narrative is to aim in producing clear, and easy to read journalism that helps readers understand the stories shaping our world without the intimidating jargon that can surround politics.
